Ruth E. Carter won her second Oscar for best costume design for "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever" and dedicated her victory to her late mother, Mabel Carter, and called upon late actor Chadwick Boseman to look after her. Carter is the first Black woman to win two Oscars in the 95-year history of the award show. Michelle Yeoh also made history by becoming the first actress of Southeast Asian descent to win the Academy Award for best actress.
