A study conducted by researchers from The Ohio State University found that performing acts of kindness can reduce symptoms of depression and anxiety and increase life satisfaction. Participants were split into three groups and assigned to techniques used in cognitive behavioral therapy, such as planning social activities or cognitive reappraisal. However, only the group instructed to perform acts of kindness showed greater improvements in life satisfaction and symptoms of depression and anxiety, and helped people feel more connected to others. Awesome!
