Meet the Blacksmiths Who Transform Guns into Garden Tools

The organization Swords to Plowshares Northeast, co-founded by retired Episcopal bishop Jim Curry, helps police departments manage gun buyback programs and repurpose the weapons into gardening tools. These tools are created by volunteer blacksmiths, prisoners, or eager participants from the community and are then donated to community gardens and agricultural high schools, with the harvested vegetables going to soup kitchens and homeless shelters. The organization aims to repurpose guns and turn them into something useful for the community.
