Finland Declared Happiest Country for Sixth Time in a Row

Finland has been named the happiest nation in the world for the sixth year in a row, according to the annual World Happiness Report. The ranking is largely based on the Gallup World Poll, evaluating factors including GDP per capita, social support, healthy life expectancy, freedom, generosity, and corruption. The report's authors said the citizens of Finland's strong feelings of communal support and mutual trust were factors that helped the country navigate the COVID-19 pandemic and maintain its top spot. Denmark, Iceland, Israel, and the Netherlands rounded out the top five.
