Design Company Invents Ceramic–Like Tiles But Made Entirely of Fish Scales and Completely Recyclable

French designers have created Scalite, a tile made from fish scales that separates and combines naturally-occurring minerals and collagen in fish scales to create a beautiful, durable, and fire-resistant tile. Scalite can be used in various applications and is priced between common natural stone and marble at around $35 per sq foot. They are not water-resistant but the company is working on a solution to maintain the product's green credentials. Pretty neat!
