Three international codebreakers have uncovered secret, coded letters written by Mary, Queen of Scots. The letters, dating from 1578 to 1574, were discovered in France's national library archives and deciphered using computerized and manual techniques. The letters offer new insights into Mary's 19 years of captivity in England and were addressed to Michel de Castelnau de Mauvissière, France’s ambassador to England.
