Barbara Thackray, an 85-year-old grandmother who runs 10k twice a week to stay fit, has been chosen as one of the faces for a new Adidas advertisement alongside Liverpool footballer, Mo Salah. Thackray, a retired college lecturer, took up running eight years ago to raise funds for St Ann's Hospice in Heald Green, Stockport, after her sister died there in the 1990s. She said that she had seen the advert "on a little screen" and that it was "fine," provided Adidas made a significant donation to St Ann's Hospice.
