Brandon Tsay, the man who disarmed the Monterey Park shooting suspect, was honored with a medal of courage by the Alhambra Police Department. He is also invited as a guest to President Biden's State of the Union address on February 7. Biden called Tsay to thank him for his bravery and said, "You are America... America's never backed down, we've always stepped up, because of people like you."
