An 8-Year-Old Learned His Waffle House Waiter Was Living in a Motel and Raised Over $66K for Him

Devonte Gardner is a waiter at a Waffle House in Little Rock, Arkansas. He had been struggling with his living situation and had no car to drive to work. When the eight-year-old boy, Kayzen Hunter, learned about Gardner's situation, he started a GoFundMe campaign to raise money for him. Kayzen's initial aim was to raise $500 to help Gardner buy a car, but the campaign quickly gained momentum, and as of publication, it had raised over $66,000. Gardner has since signed a lease on a two-bedroom apartment, thanks to the generosity of the donors.
