A Pilot Takes a Big Risk to Save a Skydiver's Life

Alan Ayers was a skydiver who got his foot caught in the passenger seatbelt while jumping out of a plane in 1970. The 23-year-old pilot of the plane unbuckled her seatbelt and freed Ayers' ankle, saving his life. Ayers never got a chance to thank the pilot, but he remembers her as one of the bravest people he's ever encountered. The story is part of a podcast called My Unsung Hero, where people share stories of their unsung heroes.
