Louisiana high school senior Dennis Maliq Barnes has broken the world record by receiving more than 170 college acceptance letters and over $9 million in scholarship offers. Barnes, who attends International High School of New Orleans and has a 4.98 GPA, began applying to colleges in August 2022. He intends to pursue computer science and then attend law school, but has not yet decided which school he will attend in the fall. Barnes credits his family, friends, and faith in God for his achievements and advises others to prioritize their education and keep God in the mix. School officials have contacted the Guinness Book of World Records to make Barnes' accomplishment official.
