Louise Kobs, a 91-year-old crossing guard from Long Island, New York, has retired after 41 years of service. She never missed a day of work or called out sick and took pride in her job and the Nassau County police department. Kobs referred to the children she helped cross the street as "her children" and loved watching them grow up. County officials recognized her dedication and hard work, and she is remembered as a beloved figure in the community. Despite her retirement, Kobs says she is "still going."
