Joan Potters, a 93-year-old woman, has turned her room into a workshop where she crafts dog beds from fabric scraps donated by the Greater San Antonio Quilting Guild. These beds are then distributed to animal shelters around San Antonio, including the San Antonio Humane Society and the Paul Jolly Center for pet adoptions. Despite her age, Potters is committed to the cause, saying she'll continue making the beds "until I can't do it anymore." She pays meticulous attention to detail, ensuring no loose threads could harm the dogs. Missionaries from the Church of Jesus Christ occasionally assist her, and together they deliver around 30 to 40 beds to shelters each month. Potters believes that dogs, like humans, have feelings and deserve comfort.
